We Want Your Opinions on the State of the Union
on February 12th 2013
President Obama gives the annual State of the Union address before a joint session of Congress tonight at 9 pm ET. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) will give the official Republican response immediately afterwards. More than ever, the speech won’t be a one-way affair. There will be plenty of opportunities for you to interact and provide input.
The White House website is offering a live, enhanced webcast of the speech with graphics and other content. The site also offers tools to share your stories and offer input on particular parts of the speech.
Fix the Debt is also offering opportunities to interact and express your opinions during the speech. We will send real-time text messages, asking questions about what President Obama and Senator Rubio have to say about reducing our deficit for the long term. To participate and to let us know what you think of the State of the Union, text SOTU to 877877 or register here. You can also follow @FixtheDebt on Twitter for updates during the speech.
Addressing the State of the Debt is important to the State of the Union. Help us make sure it isn’t ignored.
